- Do not be fooled by "bait and switch" advertising. Sunday special ads in the
newspaper are exceptionally misleading. Read the fine print. There are
always caveats, and when there are caveats, you ultimately pay more.
Myth number two:
Big Box Retailers offer better warrantees. WRONG!
- At Shelley Eye Center every single frame and lens is warranteed for one year
from manufacturer's defects. Most retailers charge extra, while one very well-
known retailer's policy is to charge you 50% of their usual and customary fees.
Ours are at no additional charge.

The lenses are the same no matter where I buy my lenses. WRONG!

- Private practice doctors have access to higher quality frames and lenses that
are not available to major retailers. These lenses are more scratch resistant,
thinner and lighter, and are supported by companies that won't even sell to
retailers. You will not find a Hoya or Varilux lens in a corporate retailer. These
lenses are superior products.
